Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Monday directed officials to declare revenue villages of those habitation that have not been done so before June 30.
“The declaration of hattis and thandas as revenue villages has been pending for a long time, and efforts should be hastened to declare them as revenue villages,” he told Revenue officials in Chitradurga on Monday.
The Minister said that the declaration of revenue villages should be completed within June 30 since creation of new revenue units are prohibited once the notification for general census is issued. “The prohibition can remain in place for two years,” he noted.
Referring to the provision for creating a revenue bock if more than 10 houses are located within a 1-km radius of the village, the Minister said: “We have to ensure stability for people by identifying and creating revenue villages. Get information from associations representing yadavas and thandas.”
Mr. Gowda said that the government, which is celebrating completion of two years on May 20 at Hosapete in Vijayanagara district, will hand over hakku patras (title deeds) to 1 lakh families besides distribution of several benefits. He said that facilities are being created for the beneficiary to bring one member of the family.
