A 20-year-old Biomedical Engineering student from Chennai has accused two individuals, including a friend, of sexually assaulting her at a residence in Hyderabad.

An officer from the Bachupally police said that the woman was brought to Hyderabad by a friend, identified as Ajay, who had promised to help her secure an internship at a pharmaceutical company. She was provided accommodation at a women’s hostel in Kukatpally.

“However, on May 4, Ajay reportedly invited her to a gathering at his friend Hari’s flat in Nizampet. She claimed that she was offered alcohol at the gathering, and after losing consciousness, was sexually assaulted by the two men,” said the officer.

Following her complaint, Bachupally police registered a case and arrested both accused. An investigation is currently underway.
