The central districts have recorded a significant improvement in performance in the 2025 SSLC public examinations in comparison to the previous years. The districts have recorded a pass percentage of over 91 this year.
Tiruchi district secured the fifth position in the State by recording 96.61% pass in the examinations this year. As many as 32,409 students (16,123 boys and 16,286 girls) out of the 33,545 who had appeared cleared the SSLC examinations putting the pass percentage at 96.61. About 210 schools, including 92 government schools, 28 aided schools, an Anglo-Indian school, and 89 private schools, recorded 100% pass results in the district.
The district continued to show improvement in the SSLC examinations over the years. It recorded a pass percentage of 95.23 in 2023-24 and 94.28 in 2022-23. Government schools in the district recorded 95.42% pass, putting Tiruchi in the fourth position in the State.
In the Class 11 examinations, the district recorded a pass percentage of 92.31 with 29,216 out of the 31,649 students who had appeared for the exams clearing them.
Perambalur district
As many as 7,628 out of 7,908 students came out successful in the exams, recording a pass percentage of 96.46 in the Perambalur district, which finished in the seventh position. Of the 141 schools in the district, 70 — 30 government schools, four aided schools, six Adi Dravidar Welfare schools and 30 self-financing and matriculation schools — achieved 100% pass results. In the previous year, the district registered a pass percentage of 94.70 securing the eighth position.
In Class 11 exams, 6,808 out of 7,355 candidates cleared the examinations putting the pass percentage at 92.56.
Ariyalur district
In SSLC, Ariyalur district registered a pass percentage of 96.38 with 9,485 out of the 9,841 students who had appeared for the exams having cleared them. Of the 172 schools, 89, including 50 government schools, recorded 100% pass result placing the district in the eighth position this year. However, in the previous year the district topped the State with 97.31%.
Ariyalur emerged as a top performer in the State in the Class 11 exams. As many as 8,474 out of the 8,668 students had cleared the examinations with a pass percentage of 97.76.
Karur excels
In SSLC examinations, 10,817 out of 11,240 students cleared the exam with a pass percentage of 96.24. As many as 85 schools, including 35 government schools, have registered 100% pass result. The district rose to 10th position this year from 13th last year.
The district registered a pass percentage of 90.80 with 9,397 out of the 10,349 students who had appeared for the Class 11 exams having cleared them.
Thanjavur’s show
The government schools in Thanjavur district recorded an increase of 3.27 percentage points over their last year’s pass percentage in the SSLC examinations. According to sources, the government schools recorded 90.87% pass in the SSLC examinations last year. This year this figure rose to 94.14%.
Of the 12,150 students from 228 government schools who took the examinations this year, 11,777 cleared them. Only 88 out of the 228 government schools recorded a 100% pass results this year.
In all, 29,275 students from government, government-aided, and private schools wrote the examinations this year. Of them, 27,978 passed taking the total pass percentage to 95.57 as against 93.40 in the 2023-24 public examinations, sources added.
In the Class 11 exams, 24,689 out of 26,456 candidates cleared the examinations putting the pass percentage at 93.32.
Tiruvarur’s progress
The district registered a pass percentage of 95.27 with 14,413 out of the 15,128 students who appeared for the SSLC exams having cleared them. Of the 228 schools, only 92 schools, including 44 government schools, managed to record a 100% pass result. Compared to last year’s pass percentage, the district recorded an increase of 2.78 percentage points.
In Class 11 exams, 11,937 students cleared the exam out of the 13,165 students who appeared for the exams with a pass percentage of 90.67.
Mayiladuthurai district
As many as 11,408 students out of the 12,149 who had appeared for the exams cleared them with a pass percentage of 93.90 in SSLC exams. About 63 schools, including 18 government schools, recorded a cent per cent result.
In Class 11 exams, 9,371 out of 10,461 students cleared the exam with a pass percentage of 89.58.
Pudukottai report card
As many as 20,246 out of the 21,646 students who had appeared for the SSLC exams came out successful, recording a pass percentage of 93.53. As many as 111 schools, including 43 government schools, have registered 100% results.
In Class 11 exams, 16,961 out of 19,318 students had cleared with a pass percentage of 87.80.
Nagapattinam dist.
The district registered a pass percentage of 91.94 with 7,574 out of the 8,238 students who had appeared for the SSLC exams having cleared them. Of the 138 schools, 41 schools, including 21 government schools, recorded a 100% pass result.
As many as 6,782 students cleared the Class 11 exam out of the 7,253 of them with a pass percentage of 93.51.
