Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday (May 16, 2025) said the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) was an “opportunistic” group of “dynastic and corrupt” parties, based on only the hatred of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reacting to certain remarks of senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram on the INDIA bloc, Mr. Chandrasekhar told the media: “Some Congress party leaders sometimes get these occasional flashes of reality…it has been obvious since 2019 when the people gave a mandate to Narendra Modi ji and the BJP and in 2024 again, yet another mandate, that INDI alliance is an opportunistic alliance of corrupt parties, it is an alliance of dynastic parties, it is an alliance of parties….based on hatred of Modi ji.”
“So, people have rejected them a long time ago. Today, some Congress party leaders are waking up to that reality and are beginning to speak openly about it, but [for] most of us, the fact that INDI alliance represents not even one idea for bettering our lives, for bettering India, has been known for several years now…,” he said, adding that “they are united only by their love for corruption and their fear and hatred of Narendra Modi ji”.
Mr. Chandrasekhar said although he had several differences with senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor over various issues, he agreed with whatever Mr. Tharoor said about Operation Sindoor in favour of the country.
