Three killed as their car hit parked lorry on National Highway in Kakinada district

 

Three sales executives of Apollo pharmacy of Rajamahendravaram city died on the spot and two of their colleagues survived with major injuries after a car, in which the five sales executives were returning from Visakhapatnam, hit a lorry parked on the side of the National Highway in Kakinada district. The incident occurred at Velampeta village under Tuni police limits around 2 a.m. on Saturday (May 17, 2025.) 

The deceased have been identified as Sk.Hazarat Ali, Geddam Ramaraju and Varadi Sudheer belonging to Rajamahendravaram City. One among the five sales executives was reportedly driving the car while they were returning from Visakhapatnam after attending their office meeting on Friday (May 16, 2025.) 

“All five sales executives, including the driver, were reportedly in a drunken state while they were travelling”, according to an official release issued by East Godavari Superintendent of Police G. Bindhu Madhav. 

“The injured persons, Mr. Venkata Subba Rao and Mr. Siva Sankar, have been shifted to Apollo Pharmacy hospital in Kakinada City, where their health condition is said to be critical,” according to police. 

The police led by Peddapuram DSP Mr. Srihari Raju rushed to the spot and launched the probe into the accident. The bodies have been sent to Tuni government hospital for post-mortem. The police registered a case and the investigation is on. 

Nara Lokesh responds: In an official release, Education, Information and Technology Minister Nara Lokesh has directed the officials concerned to provide better treatment to the injured persons and assured to necessary support from the government.
