Raichur district has received excess rainfall from January till date this year. The district has been receiving continuous rainfall for the last couple of days.
The district has received 6.8 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.
The highest rainfall of 13.7 mm has been recorded in Deodurg taluk while the lowest of 3.4 mm has been recorded in Raichur taluk.
Maski has received 8.7 mm fainfall, Sirwar 7.1 mm, Lingsugur 5.1 mm, Sindhanur 4.8 mm and Manvi 4.8 mm.
The overall rainfall from January to May 20 has been put at 119.9 mm, which is 136% above the average of 50.8 mm during the period.
Raichur taluk has recorded just 50.5 mm against an average of 65.2 mm. The highest of 202.2 mm has been recorded in Maski taluk, which is 346% above the average of 45.3 mm.
The taluk-wise rainfall is as follows: Deodurg 105.9 mm (against 61.4 mm), Lingsugur 131.8 mm (56.4 mm), Manvi 97 mm (46.7 mm), Sindhanur 137.3 mm (48.9 mm) and Sirwar 140.9 mm against an average of 140.9 mm, respectively.
The pre-monsoon rainfall has been in favour of farmers so far. Farmers are now preparing land for kharif sowing. Meanwhile, in several rain-related incidents, trees have fallen down and tin sheds blown away. However, no major incidents have been reported.
