Kudumbashree Arangu concludes in district

Curtain came down on Arangu, a district-level arts festival organised by the Kudumbashree Thiruvananthapuram district mission to showcase the creative talents of its auxiliary group members, here on Thursday.

Kattakada community development society (CDS) won the overall trophy with 76 points. Kizuvilam CDS was the first runner-up with 53 points. Nellanad CDS and Chenkal CDS shared the third spot with 46 points.

Nearly 300 women from 40 CDS in the district demonstrated their talents across five venues. They competed in 81 stage and non-stage events in two categories – 18 to 40 (junior) and above 40 (senior).

I.B. Satheesh, MLA, inaugurated the valedictory of Arangu at Guru Gopinath Natanagramam, Vattiyurkavu. Ward councillor I.M. Parvathy presided. Kudumbashree district mission coordinators Ramesh G. and assistant coordinator Unnikrishnan R. spoke.
