A migrant labourer from Bihar was arrested on Saturday on the charge of beating his three-year-old son to death at Harugoppa village in Belagavi district.

The Murugod police have identified the accused as Mukesh Maji.

According to the police, Mukesh quarrelled with his wife and beat up his child, Kartik, using wooden pieces from the stove. The child died a few moments later. A case has been registered.
