Muslim bodies urged to celebrate Prophet Mohammed’s 1500th birthday

Kerala Samsthana Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary Najeeb Maulavi has appealed to Muslim organisations and mahal leaderships to celebrate the 1500th birthday of Prophet Mohammed in a grand manner.

He also urged them to devise suitable programmes to dispel the misconceptions of those who have raised allegations against the Prophet.

The Maulavi said that a grand national celebration would be held at Manjeri on August 20 and 21 under the Darussunnah.

He was inaugurating a seminar titled ‘the final Prophet in the scriptures’ held as part of 1,500th birthday celebrations of Prophet Mohammed at Kozhikode on Sunday.

Sunni Youth Federation State president Syed Hashim Bafaqi Thangal presided over the function. Islamic scholar Mohammed Sajeer spoke on ‘the final Prophet in Christian scriptures’. Mohamed Faizy Onampilly spoke on ‘the final Prophet in Hindu scriptures’, and Ashraf Baqavi Odiyapara spoke on ‘the final Prophet in the Quran’.
