Rishabh Pant and Mitchell Marsh put on a 102-run partnership for the second wicket, with Marsh scoring 67(37) as he concluded a fine performance in IPL 2025, a campaign which saw him amass 627 runs in the season.

Pant struck 11 fours and eight sixes in his innings of 118*, but it wasn’t enough for LSG. This was Pant’s second IPL century, but also the second to come in a losing cause. A campaign which didn’t quite go to plan for LSG, ending with a match which showcased their strengths but also emphasised their weaknesses.

A strange day for Kiwi Will O’Rourke and the LSG bowling unit. O’Rourke seemed to turn the game in LSG’s favour with a two-wicket over, but was hit all around the park to finish with figures of 2-74 from his four overs. The third-worst bowling figures in the history of the IPL.

Digvesh Rathi was in the eye of the storm in his final over. He looked to have turned the game again with the wicket of Jitesh, but was called back for a back-foot no-ball. A couple of deliveries later, he ‘Mankaded’ Jitesh as the non-striker’s end, but his captain Pant withdrew the appeal soon after. A mixed bag on his return from suspension.
