A 27-year-old man was found murdered at a secluded location near the hillocks in Suraram on Friday evening. The victim, identified as Syed Danish, a daily-wage worker residing in Yousufguda, is suspected to have been killed by two men identified as Mohd Bilal and Aslam, following a drunken brawl.
According to Suraram Sub-Inspector Venkatesh, Danish and Bilal had an ongoing dispute. “After separating from her husband, Danish’s mother Afsana began living with Bilal in Jagadgirigutta. Danish, who moved out to Yousufguda with his wife, strongly disapproved of their relationship and had several confrontations with Bilal,” the officer said.
On Friday evening, Danish, Bilal, and Aslam went to Chintal Cheruvu in Gajularamaram to consume alcohol. A scuffle broke out, during which Bilal and Aslam allegedly stabbed Danish with a knife and fled the scene. Upon being alerted by an area local, the Suraram police arrived at the spot and launched an investigation. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination. A case has been registered against the two suspects and further investigation is underway.
