Modi to lay stone and dedicate development projects in Amaravati worth over ₹58,000 crore on May 2

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the foundation and dedicating to the nation multiple development projects in Amaravati worth over ₹58,000 crore on May 2.

The projects mainly include the Legislative Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, other administrative buildings and houses for the poor costing about ₹11,240 crore.

The other works / projects are trunk infrastructure and flood mitigation projects featuring a 320-km world-class transport network with underground utilities and advanced flood management systems worth over ₹17,400 crore, and Land Pooling Scheme Infrastructure projects costing about ₹20,400 crore, according to an official release.

Mr. Modi will lay the foundation for the Missile Test Range (MTR) at Nagayalanka in Krishna district worth around ₹1,460 crore. The MTR comprises a launch centre, technical instrumentation facilities, indigenous radars, telemetry and electro-optical systems that augment the country’s defence preparedness.

Further, the Prime Minister will inaugurate seven National Highways (NH) projects in the State, including the widening of various sections of NHs and construction of road over bridges and subways. These projects will enhance road safety, create employment opportunities and provide seamless connectivity to religious and tourist places like Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Malakonda and Udayagiri Fort, among others.

Mr. Modi will also dedicate to the nation railway projects that include the doubling of the rail line between Bugganipalle Cement Nagar and Panyam stations, enhancing connectivity between Rayalaseema and Amaravati, and construction of a third rail line between New West Block Hut Cabin and Vijayawada station.

He will also lay the foundation for six National Highway projects and one railway project. These projects include the construction of a rail-over-rail between Guntakal West and Mallappa Gate stations aimed at bypassing freight trains, thereby reducing congestion at Guntakal Junction.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for PM Ekta Mall at Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam, which has been envisioned to foster national integration, support the ‘Make in India initiative’, promote ‘One District – One Product’, generate employment opportunities, empower rural artisans, and enhance the market presence of indigenous products.
