Tamil Nadu registers 98.48% pass rate in Class 12 CBSE exams

Tamil Nadu registered a 98.48% pass rate among students who appeared for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 board exams. This marks a marginal decrease from last year’s pass rate of 98.74% in the State. The CBSE Class 12 results were announced on Tuesday (May 13, 2025), with the national pass percentage recorded at 88.39%

As many as 42,904 boys and 37,314 girls from Tamil Nadu wrote the exam, wherein girls outperformed boys (98.03%) with a pass rate of 98.99%. The Chennai region stood third in the country after the Trivandrum and Vijayawada regions, with 97.39% pass rate, which is a marginal decrease from last year’s 98.47%. Besides Tamil Nadu, the Chennai region includes Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The CBSE exams began on February 15 and concluded on April 4. As many as 1,041 schools in the State took part in the exams, and students appeared for the same in 344 centres across Tamil Nadu.

Students can access their results through any of the four CBSE websites: www.cbse.gov.in; www.results.nic.in; www.results.digilocker.gov.in; or www.umang.gov.in. Students can access their result documents through the Digilocker app.
