In the wake of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) revoking the security clearance for Turkish ground handling service provider Çelebi with immediate effect on the ground of national security, Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) which operates the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has said that it has transitioned its ground handling operations from the Turkish firm to other existing service providers.
”In compliance with a directive from the BCAS, Government of India, BIAL has transitioned its ground handling operations from Çelebi Airport Services India Private Limited to other existing service providers to ensure continuity and operational stability,” BIAL stated on May 16.
The company added that it is coordinating the transition in collaboration with all existing aviation stakeholders and government authorities.
Late on May 15, a BIAL spokesperson said that the operator is working closely with existing ground handling service providers to ensure continuity and operational stability.
“BIAL is actively coordinating the transition to maintain seamless airport operations. The airport assures passengers, airlines, and cargo stakeholders that all necessary measures are being taken to uphold service and operational efficiency during this period,” a BIAL spokesperson said.
