In a statement, Mr. Satyanarayana said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was resorting to vindictive politics, and as part of it, false cases were booked, and evidence and testimonies were being created.
“Retired and even in-service government officials were being targeted with political enmity,” Mr. Satyanarayana said, claiming that there was no evidence in the liquor scam but people were being intimidated and coerced to give statements.
After accusing the YSR Congress Party government of ignoring the menace of liquor adulteration, the present dispensation was making purchases from the same distilleries from which liquor was allegedly bought against all norms in 2019-24.
Mr. Srikanth Reddy said the political witch-hunting being done by the coalition government was not good for the State and asserted that the arrests were intended to divert the public attention from the government’s failures.
