The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is preparing to chart a new course at its annual conclave Mahanadu 2025, scheduled to be held for the first time in Kadapa, between May 27 to 30.

Exclusive information from the highly placed sources in TDP suggests that party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Nara Lokesh will unveil a comprehensive six-pillar vision that signals a shift towards ideological revival and structural reform, aimed at strengthening the party’s relevance over the next four decades.

Set against the theme “Society is the Temple… People are the Gods” under the larger campaign “My Telugu Family”, the Mahanadu will serve as a platform to present a forward-looking agenda that aligns with the expectations of the present generation while drawing from the party’s core values.

The six-pillar framework begins with global eminence for the Telugu identity, focusing on uniting Telugu communities worldwide and amplifying their role in global affairs. Lokesh is expected to launch initiatives under “My Telugu Family” to foster cultural and professional unity across borders.

The second focus is ‘Women Empowerment’ through ‘Stree Shakti’, which aims to build on the party’s legacy of securing women’s rights. The initiative will push for greater participation of women in leadership and economic roles.

Social reengineering for the poor forms the third pillar, with structured plans for poverty eradication and the empowerment of backward communities. Emphasis will be placed on caste-based equity and inclusive welfare.

Under ‘Yuvagalam’, the fourth pillar, Lokesh plans to prioritize youth development through employment, entrepreneurship, and skill-building programs, targeting both rural and urban youth. The fifth pillar, ‘Annadataku Anda’ (Support to the Farmer), will focus on enhancing agricultural productivity, ensuring better irrigation, technology access, and market support for farmers.

The sixth pillar emphasizes party cadre empowerment, affirming that grassroots workers are central to the party’s strength. Lokesh is expected to propose institutional support for the cadre and greater roles in party affairs.

Organisational restructuring will also be a major theme, including membership drives and strengthening of committees at all levels. This Mahanadu 2025 gains added significance following TDP’s sweeping victory in the 2024 elections and its inroads in undivided Kadapa district, where it won 7 out of 10 seats for the first time.
