Banks in Telangana target 32% higher credit disbursements to ₹8.58 lakh crore in FY26

Bank credit disbursement in Telangana during 2025-26 is projected to touch ₹8,58,100 crore, an increase of 31.67% compared to previous fiscal.

Priority sector advances are projected to be nearly 30% higher year on year at ₹3,85,855 crore while disbursals under the agricultural sector are expected to be a little over 7% higher to ₹1,62,946 crore, the State Level Bankers’ Committee of Telangana said in the annual credit plan for FY26.

Sharing highlights after Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka launched the plan in Hyderabad on Thursday (may 23, 2025), SLBC Convener Prakash Chandra Baror said short term production credit is projected to 3.40% to ₹93,884 crore; investment credit (agriculture term loans) 38.96% to ₹45,659 crore; disbursements to MSME by as much as 57% to ₹2,03,565 crore.

The allocation for education loans is ₹2,486 crore and housing sector gets ₹10,493 crore.

Making a presentation on the performance of the banks in Telangana during 2024-25, Deputy Managing Director of SBI, Hyderabad Circle, Rajesh Kumar said ₹580 crore education loans were disbursed, while housing loans under priority sector totalled ₹3,433 crore.

Deposits rose ₹60,477 crore

Deposits increased by ₹60,477 crore during FY-25 and total deposits were at ₹8,40,430 crore. Advances increased ₹1,02,302 crore and stood at ₹10,81,361 crore. CD ratio went up from 125.53% to 128.67% during last fiscal, he said.

Banks disbursed short term production loans amounting to ₹73,105 crore, thus achieving 80.52% of the annual target. Disbursements to the MSME segment totalled ₹1,21,343 crore, achieving 93.60% of the target.

Banks disbursed ₹2,67,452 crore to various sections of borrowers under priority sector, which is 89.61% of target, the SLBC said in a release.
